Friedrichshafen is a 58.000 people city on the northern side of Lake Constance, in Southern Germany. It's an important industrial area (Zeppelin, ZF, Dornier, Maybach) but certainly a nice town to visit for all those who enjoy sailing. Beside that, there is a lot of smaller towns around that are worth to visit because of their landscapes, museums and of course the schwäbish meal

Sun, 03 Oct 2010 22:40:00 -0700 New Zealand http://tour.yumit.com/new-zealand http://tour.yumit.com/new-zealand

New Zealand,

The indigenous Māori language name for New Zealand is Aotearoa, commonly translated as land of the long white cloud. The Realm of New Zealand also includes the Cook Islands and Niue (self-governing but in free association); Tokelau; and the Ross Dependency (New Zealand's territorial claim in Antarctica).

The country's cuisine has been identified as “Pacific Rim”, taking inspiration from Asia, Europe and Polynesia. These unified influences have formed a delightful range of flavor and food in restaurants and cafes all over the country.

Just collected some foodies and places you might try if you visit this amazing country

  1. Chicken Burger with caramelized onion @ Relish cafe
  2. Huge garlic bread @ Countdown supermarket
  3. Green Salad @ Relish cafe
  4. Seared scallops @ Minami Jujisei

Mon, 09 Aug 2010 16:41:00 -0700 Bangkok http://tour.yumit.com/bangkok http://tour.yumit.com/bangkok

Bangkok, the capital of Thailand, a well known paradise in the southern Asia, offers reasons long enough to be visited at least once in a lifetime. You might feel a bit lost in this huge and very asian alike busy city when trying to put some munch in your mouth because though you might think that is a well infrastructured city for turism, the truth is that, for example, only a minority of its taxi drivers speak english. So you can become a bit crazy just to reach a determined area in the city.

You will find an uncountable amount of small restaurants all around the city that place their mobile carry-kitchen outside probably as a marketing claim.

This are some dishes i found in this tiny family business.

  1. Pad Thai with Prawns @ Ban Sabai Hostel
  2. Pad Thai with Prawns @ Novus Cafe
  3. Fried Rice with Chicken @ Thai House Sabai
  4. Pork With Vegetables @ Thai House Sabai
  5. Crystal Noodles Pad Thai @ Corner Bar
  6. Grilled Chicken @ Ewosou
  7. Seafood With Vegetables @ Ewosou
  8. Fried Rice with Duck @ Ewosou

You might not skip going to a traditional Thai Market that you can find on hundreds specially in the popular residential areas. These markets have a pretty diverse kind of foodies, that normally are served in a transparent bag to you.

  1. Big Noodles with Fritters @ Traditional Thai Market
  2. Crispy Fried Chicken @ Traditional Thai Market
  3. Assorted Minicrepes @ Traditional Thai Market
  4. Fried and very Spiced Fish @ Traditional Thai Market
  5. Grilled Octopus @ Traditional Thai Market
  6. Thai Cream Fritters @ Traditional Thai Market
  7. Thai Bun @ Traditional Thai Market

And overall keep your tonge ready for the spice war. Yep, still talking about food.

Best.

Sun, 01 Aug 2010 15:58:00 -0700 Kathmandu http://tour.yumit.com/kathmandu http://tour.yumit.com/kathmandu

From the unaccesible Kathmandu, i tried to collect some dishes representative from the Nepalese cuisine, that could be considered a mixing between indian and chinese in some way.

They love buffalo meat, that is their cheapest meat even below chicken. They don't cook much beef, i presume because of the strong influence of the Indian cuisine and hinduism.

This foods were mainly provided in the tourist-friendly area of Thamel, so they are easily accesible to any visitor who spends some days there.

  1. Bhute ko Bhitryaas @ Nebari House
  2. Bhutuwa Jibro @ Nebari House
  3. Chataamari @ Nebari House
  4. Egg Fried Rice @ MoMo's Cave
  5. Aalu Fry @ Newa Mo:Mo
  6. Buff MoMo @ MoMo's Cave
  7. Boiled Buff MoMo @ Newa Mo:Mo

I have to recommend strongly this two places if you someday visit this city.

  1. MoMo's Cave
  2. Newa Mo:Mo

(Both in Thamel area)

Fri, 23 Jul 2010 00:17:00 -0700 New Delhi http://tour.yumit.com/new-delhi-0 http://tour.yumit.com/new-delhi-0

Moving along one of the hugest cities in the World is not that easy so i decided to go for the street food instead of trying to find interesting restaurants in this enormous caos.

  1. Lele @ The Times of India
  2. Vegetable Cheese Franky @ Sukh Sagar
  3. Pakora @ Street Food Vendor
  4. Peanuts @ Street Food Vendor
  5. Fried Potatoes @ Street Food Vendor
  6. Assorted Sweets @ Street Food Vendor

Before walking the streets i tried different kinds of indian vegetarian breakfast.

  1. Mini Tiffin @ Saravana Bhanvan
  2. Poori Bhaji @ Hotel Le Roi

In New Delhi i gave a try to fish. Pretty stupid considering the distance to the sea and that the technologies used in India for food conservation are quite obsolete.

  1. Praws fried @ New Apna
  2. Fish Masala @ New Apna
  3. Fish Fried @ New Apna

Anyway, if Indian diet becomes to strong for you. You can easily find some "continental foods" in most of the hotels. Don't feel a loser for that. :)
